How the TCG Scanner Works
Three steps from photo to full card details. No account, no app, no cost.
Photograph the Card
Take a clear photo of the card face-up on a flat surface. Include all four edges and the full card text. Natural light gives the best results — avoid flash glare on foil cards.

Trading cards are a serious investment category. The difference between a common card and a rare variant can be thousands of dollars. Our free scanner helps collectors, investors, and casual players understand exactly what they have — and what it's worth.
Tips for the Best Scans
Lay the card flat — don't hold it in your hand, as fingers obscure identifying details.
Photograph straight down from above, not at an angle — this prevents perspective distortion.
Use natural daylight or soft indoor lighting — avoid direct flash which causes glare on foils.
For foil cards, use indirect side-lighting to reduce glare while keeping text readable.
Include all four edges of the card — the border and set symbol are key identifiers.
Clean the camera lens before shooting — a smudged lens reduces identification accuracy.
If a card is in a sleeve, remove it if possible — sleeves can obscure card borders and text.
For vintage or damaged cards, photograph at multiple angles if one angle is unclear.
